Operations Manager – Angela Hjertstedt

Portland Boychoir seeks a detail-oriented Operations Manager with excellent computer skills and an independent work ethic to begin work in May, 2019.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OPERATIONS MANAGER:

  1. To manage the financial resources of Portland Boychoir.
    1. To process tuition payments.
    2. To maintain accurate financial records by reconciling the bank accounts, tracking donations, and sending contribution acknowledgements.
    3. To make deposits.
    4. To prepare payments to be made (and have checks signed by designated board members).
  2. To field incoming communications – email and telephone – and follow up as needed.
  3. To maintain the data bases of prospective singers, member families, donors, and professional affiliates.
  4. To support the conducting staff with rehearsal and performance logistics; such as
    1. Sending promotional information for auditions;
    2. Staffing the box office at concerts;
    3. Enlisting ushers and front of house volunteers as needed;
    4. Coordinating schedules with venues;
    5. Preparing and reproducing concert programs.
  5. To coordinate fundraising logistics for established fundraisers, including:
    1. Raffle sales;
    2. Flower basket sales;
    3. Annual campaign letters;
    4. Silent auction.
  6. To implement the policies set by the Board of Directors.

DESIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  1. A self-motivator with excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail.
  2. Capacity to prioritize tasks and to plan in advance in order to accomplish projects in a timely fashion.
  3. Capacity to delegate and to call on the support of volunteers as needed.

COMPENSATION

The Operations Manager for Portland Boychoir is a contracted part-time position.  The anticipated compensation is $9K to $12K annually, commensurate with experience for approximately ten hours per week.
